     PEC signs MoU with ESIGELEC, France

Chandigarh, February 2nd 2009

A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed and exchanged between Punjab Engineering College, Deemed University, Chandigarh and ESIGELEC-School of Engineering, Rouen, France on February 2, 2009 by Mr. Marteaux Cyril, Director of International Relations from ESIGELEC, France and Dr. Manoj Datta, Director, PEC.

The MoU has been signed with the major objective of establishing academic collaboration and fostering student exchange between the two Universities. The ceremony was also attended by Mr.Olivier Duchatelle, Attache for Scientific and University co-operation in India, French Embassy, Ms. Isabelle Normandy, Director of Alliance Francaise and Ms.Nidhi Chopra co-ordinator, Alliance Francaise at Chandigarh. Dr.Vasundhara Singh, faculty incharge at PEC facilitated the collaboration. The French team visited the Cyber Security research Centre at PEC and interacted with Dr. Sanjeev Sofat ,Professor and Head and Ms.Divya, Lecturer in Computer Science and Engineering.
ESIGELEC offers degrees in the field of Telecommunications, Electronics, Information Technologies, Networks, Automation & Robotics, Electrical Engineering and Business Engineering. Its research institute in Electronic Embedded Systems is nationally and internationally recognized in the Automotive, Aeronautics, Electronics and Telecommunications areas. This agreement includes various activities which will enable both PEC and ESIGELEC to exchange students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels for internship/projects and course work in regular engineering curriculum for a period of upto six months to one year. The MoU will also foster co-operation for faculty exchange through deputation for short term assignments upto a period of one year and other activities which will include joint projects, joint supervision of doctoral students and other academic programmes of mutual interest. This agreement will be valid for the next five years from the date of signing the agreement.
