PEC and MIA sign MoU

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between PEC and Mohali Industries Association (MIA) on 7th May 2009, at the MIA Bhawan.
The MOU was formally signed by Prof Gurnam Singh, Dean Research Planning and Development from PEC and Er B. S. Anand, President MIA. Dr. Manoj Datta, Director PEC was present during the signing ceremony. He stated that the collaboration shall bring in better harmony between the academic institutes and the industry which can map into an unprecedented excellence. The MOU was a long needed step to promote growth and extend industrial experiences to the students and the faculty of PEC.
Mr. B.S. Anand, while welcoming the delegation from PEC, anticipated that SME sector, who was deprived of solutions to their variety of industrial problems, can now hope for intervention of an intelligential togetherness from PEC. The two Past Presidents of MIA namely Er H S Katial and Er S S Sandhu also lauded the efforts of MIA for creating a nucleus of an Industry –Institute progress on shared basis.
Prof P. Thareja, Head, Metallurgical Engineering Department, presented a brief of the objectives, scope and schema of deliverables both at the hands of PEC and MIA. While Er Kanwaljit S Mahal, Secretary, MIA endorsed that the Executive Body of MIA envisages a renewed stimulus for upgradation, training, skill development and so on, especially of small and medium enterprises.
PEC alumni namely Er Anurag Aggarwal, Er S. S. Sandhu, Er Ashok Bhandari, Er Ashutosh Sharma, Er M.P Dogra, Er Pradeep Gupta (non member MIA) and Er N S Aulakh were also present in the ceremony and were particularly appealed to support the venture for the benefit of the institute as well as the industries.
Er N S Aulakh from MIA and Prof P. Thareja from PEC were designated to represent both the respective organizations for furtherance of collaborative efforts.
