Chandigarh, January 09, 2013

CHANDIGARH: In line with the nationwide trend of engineering students hitting the mark in the Common Admission Test, students of PEC University seem to have an advantage over the others. Several PEC students figure in the top bracket of 99.9%.

Nine out of 10 students who made it to the top score in CAT are engineers and one is a science graduate. Shashank and Abhinav Gupta, who made it to rank two and three respectively, are both from PEC University of Technology. Others in the merit list include Harkirt Bedi with 99.6%, Sheena Bedi with 99.56% and Eshu Sharma with 99.67% among others.

Around 60% of the approximately 8,500 Tricity students who took the test were engineering students, experts said. "We are extremely proud of the fact that our students are not just doing well in academics but in all streams. The CAT result has come as a boon for PEC and students as well," said Manoj Dutta, director, PEC University.

"It is important to get the right mentor and the right group of friends with whom to discuss things," said Eshu, a PEC student. According to Sheena, a PEC student from Jind, "There are more than 10 to 15 students from my batch in PEC who have scored more than 98%. The trend is extremely encouraging for subsequent batches."
