PEC reverberates to rock music as Elements 2005 ends

Chandigarh, April 15:

"I like to scream my guts out and yell out loads at a concert," is what Janis Joplin, the Queen of Rock, once said. And, it was no different at the Rock Show organised by the students of PEC, "Damage Inc", which drew the curtain on Elements 2005.

"Vidi Vini Vichi," the old Spanish proverb, would be apt to describe the three bands in action, setting the skyline ablaze with their gyrating sounds, incendiary guitar riffs and reverberating drum beats.

The mystical experience, the hum of naked raw rhythms flood your mind in a whirlpool of ecstasy caused by the irrevocable damage they caused on the thousand plus congregation, who worshipped these gods of rock.

Sounds of Megadeth, Green Day and Nirvana resounded in the open air arena of the college campus, with city-based bands CryogenX, Wasted Souls and PEC alumni band Incinerator screaming their guts out, but in sync. CryogenX opened the show with numbers by Megadeth, to which this four-member thrash metal band lent their own charm and musical stylings to. Wasted Souls, a classic rock, five-member band from CCA followed with Linkin Park.

Finally, the magical night came to a blitzkrieg end with PECís very own three-member alumni punk rock act, Detonators, paying tribute to the legendary rock star, Kurt Cobain, on his 11th death anniversary with unforgettable anthems like Lithium, Aneurysm and School and an original composition.

"They were the original Rock Act from Chandigarh and responsible for reviving the Chandigarh Rock Culture," were the unanimous screams from an exhilirated crowd. The PEC students were left panting for more as things wrapped up around 9.30 p.m. with concert junkies and fans making a beeline of head bangers, beating in prefect synchronous harmony to pure rock and roll.
