Pecobians get together for PECOSA meet
PEC Campus, Chandigarh 26th Feb 2006
The PECOSA (PEC Old Students Association) Annual Meet was held on 26th Feb 2006 at PEC Campus. The atmosphere was really charged up with loud guffaws, bear hugs and back slapping as old students met after long time. It was a sentimental reunion for the batch of 1956 who graduated 50 years back from PEC.
The batch of 1981 celebrated their silver jubilee and came from far and wide. With the weather cooling down everyone enjoyed hot tikkis, coffee, chat, golgappas.
The Pecosians (as PECOSA members are referred to) and their families had a gala time playing musical chairs, spoon and potato race, needle and thread race and tug of war. These were characterized by the usual PEC bonhomie and enthusiasm. The game of Tambola left everyone asking for more.
PECOSA distributed scholarships worth Rs. 90000/- to meritorious students of the college and honored the class of 1956 and 1981. This year it was also decided to honor the batch of 1971 for celebrating 35 yrs since graduation and the process will be followed from next year onwards as well. To compensate for the previous years all Pecosians present from 1957 to 1971 were honored.
The new executive body was unanimously elected. Mr. Vikram Hans 1980 Electrical has taken over as President PECOSA for the term 2006-08. The complete details of the executive committee will be mailed to PECOSA members soon.
The morning stretched into afternoon and culminated with a mouth watering lunch at Shivalik Hostel. The rajmah chawal took everyone down the memory lane of PEC where we spent probably the best 4 years (some may have spent 5 or more) of our lives.
